A eerie calm overtakes you as you descend the stone steps that lead to the base of the Athirappilly waterfalls. At more over 80 feet high, it is both Kerala’s most renowned and tallest waterfall. It’s 63 miles from the Thrissur district and a popular picnic location for locals and visitors alike. The area’s lush surroundings are ideal for strolls and family picnics. It is a section of the Chalakudy River, which is located in the Western Ghats and lies at the entry to the Sholayar forest ranges.
