Kovalam

Three nearby crescent-shaped beaches make up the well-known Kovalam beach. Since the 1930s, tourists have made it a favourite hangout. A large rocky outcropping on the shore has formed a stunning harbour with calm seas perfect for swimming.

There are numerous and varied recreational opportunities at this beach. Some of these include sailing on a catamaran, swimming, herbal body toning massages, special cultural programmes, and sunbathing. The slight blush of a coppery tan on the skin can be seen within minutes thanks to how quickly the tropical sun reacts. Life on the beach starts in the late afternoon and lasts far into the night. A stretch of inexpensive cottages, Ayurvedic health resorts, convention centres, commercial areas, swimming pools, and yoga and Ayurvedic massage studios are all part of the beach complex.

Tourists can stay in five-star or inexpensive hotels in Kovalam, and there are cafeterias and restaurants serving everything from Continental fare to South Indian specialties.

The distance from Kovalam to Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, is only 16 kilometres, and getting there is simple. However, it is preferable to stay in Kovalam and explore the city while on vacation. The Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Sri Chitra Art Gallery, and Napier Museum are just a few of the fascinating sights in Thiruvananthapuram. The best site to purchase ethnic curios and other items is the SMSM Institute, a State-owned handicrafts shop.
